MELISSA TWINDLEY
From Sydney, Australia, Melissa is 32 years of age, is
5"2 tall and competes at a weight of 50 kg and its
56kg off-season. She has been competing since 2003, and
currently competes in the Advanced Fitness class.
Melissa puts herself in competition mode when she trains
and imagines how she wants to look. That makes her push
herself, and she knows if she puts the work in now, it
will benefit her later. It is hard work but the results
show on Melissa. She asks herself when she doesn't feel
like training, "are your competitors training, are
your competitors eating that chocolate biscuit?"
85% of her training is psychological. Melissa only gets
emotional when it's close to competition time, a couple
of weeks out. She has a good cry, releases all the
tension and then she goes and trains harder. Melissa is
not religious but she does believe that there is
"someone" looking after her! She has been
blessed with a great talent. She uses visualization,
seeing herself as a World Champion. We are pleased to
